The Pioneer headunit has a separate wiring harness that I snaked through to the cubby just behind the cup holders by the shifter.

 

Hey guys, I want to buy the Trim to install a HU too.

Im just not sure if i have the "black" or "grey" trim

its a 2012 model thats just below the sport (LX)

does the silver have a slight tinge of brown?

 

Can you post a picture? If I remember correctly, the US Fit bases have the lighter silver from the 09-11s.

Correct, that is the lighter silver from the 09-11's.

 

Thanks for confirming. I had nothing to compare to and it does actually appear quite dark in certain lighting. (cloudy weather here).

Now to choose my hu..

 

Hmmm. Better get the trim piece first from someplace you can easily return it. My Metra kit for my 2012 is light silver and is nowhere near your dark color, and they only make one kit. I have not seen an aftermarket kit made by anybody that is not a light silver one.

 

Well that's why I bought the oem one. I've heard that there might be a space around the HU though. Might have to order that pilot trim piece.

I ordered it from Bernardi with the metal mounting brackets. Also, had to pay $24 to have them ship in to Ontario.
