Adding bluetooth with steering wheel controls and the Parrot UNIKA
I'm looking to add bluetooth to my 09 Fit, and the options are numerous. There are three things I'm looking for:
1. Music, navigation, and phone audio from my android to my stereo.
2. Control my phone's music and phone features with my steering wheel, using this assembly
3. Keep the OEM stereo. The beautifully designed stereo for the Fit was a major selling point for me in the first place.
My first thought was the USA SPEC BT35-HON, but it seems to have some sound quality issues. And that's not something I want when playing music.
My current thought is the Parrot UNIKA, in conjunction with an mki9200, but their compatibility selector doesn't let you see the Fit's compatability. Though one of the marketing images seems to show a Fit steering wheel.
Does anyone know if the UNIKA works on a Fit? Or if it's even a good idea in the first place?
Thanks!

As best I can tell, Parrot UK only supplies compatibility info for a handful of Hondas, but many Hondas share the same resistive control scheme. Every diagram I downloaded from Parrot for the Unika on a Honda showed the same protocol settings, just sometimes the control signal line was in a different location depending on the connector.
I did get a Unika working in the Fit, but it wasn't simple and the directions were somewhere between useless and misleading.
As-is, the power portion of the Unika wiring harness did not work with the Parrot Asteroid Smart. It appears that the Unika is supposed to conditionally pass the +12v ignition signal (presumably once the Unika boots?). I was unable to get this function to work, so I had to splice the switched 12v (Red/Yellow) to the Unika directly into the 12v switched line and disconnect the output from the Unika (Blue/Yellow).
The directions variously indicate that you should connect the Unika V2 line to chassis ground or the Unika Ground wire. Neither of these worked for me - I had to connected the V2 (Pink/Black) and Unika Ground (Gray) to the ground from the steering wheel control - I did NOT have to connect to a chassis ground. The Pink (V1) connects to the steering wheel switch.
You can easily verify that you've correctly identified the Steering wheel switch and ground with a multimeter. IIRC, no buttons pressed should be right around 10k ohms. Each button pressed should give a unique resistance value.
Rather than tap into the factory harness, I bought 2 Metra 70-1729 harnesses and stole a couple pins from one to add the control switch and control ground to the other harness. Insert one pin at postion 5 and one at position 16.
Here is a pinout for the 24 pin connector - ignore fuse references, etc. Pin 5 and Pin 16 are the ones you care about. To orient correctly, Pins 1 and 13 are the Illumination/Dimmer orange and orange/white wires in a Metra harness. Pin 12 is Gnd (Black) and 24 is 12v.
