Adjusting Volume While on Handsfree Call

Can anybody else confirm that the steering wheel mounted volume controls don't work on their car while on a call? There's a box that says audio features disabled on the display. I can still adjust by scrolling through on the touch screen...but I find that less convenient than the steering wheel control.

I just used this last night and while I was on a phone call using Bluetooth on my iPhone 5 I was able to use the steering controls to lower or raise the volume from the person talking.

I consistently use my steering wheel volume to adjust while on a call. (Bluetooth through an iPhone 4). Sounds like some investigating needs done!

I have a Nexus 5. I'm not sure if the phone makes a difference. When I get a chance, I might pair one of my friend's iPhones to see if it works.

Mystery solved. I think. When I'm on the audio screen of the Honda display and a call comes in, the call information is overlaid on half of the right side of the screen. When my screen is set up like that, I can't seem to use steering wheel controls to adjust volume. If i switch over to the phone screen part of the Honda display, the steering wheel controls seem to work fine.

Still odd, but at least I found my answer.

Interesting. I'm still using my old Samsung Galaxy S3, and when a call comes in, it does the same overlay thing, but I have no issues using the steering wheel buttons to adjust the volume of my calls.

I have found, however, that if I'm also running the GPS on my phone and I get on a call with normal volume, all of a sudden the GPS volume is INSANELY loud. It talks right over the phone call at at least 2x the volume of the call. Don't have any idea why, or how to stop it from happening, but it's annoying at best, and deafening at worst.
