Relatively self-explanatory addition here...

I mostly like them because they keep the reservoirs clean; makes servicing the brake/clutch system that much easier.

Replaced:
- spark plugs
- valve cover gasket

Cleaned:
- throttle body

Also, adjusted the valve clearances. Engine is very smooth and the valves are really quiet which kinda surprised me to be honest, but I'm happy. I wasn't expecting that much of a difference.

How long does it take to get access to the valve cover? More worried about that than the actual valve adjustment 🙄

It's not that bad, maybe an hour or so to remove everything. I did the job on Saturday, probably took about 4.5 hours total, and I work very slow and carefully, particularly with the valve adjustment.

I was thinking of buying a 4x6 canopy in case it goes long. This is our main car so certainly I would need to complete it over no more than a day+

No reason you couldn't put the cowl and intake parts inside the car and just close the hood overnight, if you had to. Canopy would only be needed for sun or rain (although you could plan around that, too).

car lookin real clean

how do you like the mugen pedals? i thought about getting some for my a/t but envisioned that texture stuff on the pedals coming off and making a mess on the carpet. or getting loaded with dirt/shoe stuff.

i see you swapped your cupholder. if you dont want the original one anymore lmk if you are interested in trading it for an intermittent wiper stalk!

Thanks! The Mugen pedals are nice. The texture has not come off, but you can totally see which sections of the pedals are used the most due to heel-toe downshifting. I'm not really sure how I'd clean them, but I don't really care to anyway. I'm hanging on to the OEM cupholder, sorry.

@eulogy, this is what the pedals look like currently after ~7,000 miles of usage.

I would expect nothing less for their price tag, haha.

Tein Flex Z coilovers, J's Racing tie bar, and ITR brakes installed. I also added a bit more negative camber, so the car is sitting at -2.5 degrees of negative camber at the moment. I also gained an entire degree of caster which was nice; kept the toe at 0.00.

where does the j's racing bar install to?

Im jealous of the tein flex z. mine only allow me to go so low, until you start ruining preload / adversely affecting ride quality and handling (thread type is the worse, I wish they all just came fully adjustable)

I picked up the coilovers for $100. They ride extremely well and, dare I say, better than stock.

Yeah, I couldn't pass it up for that price. My front sway bar is disconnected currently as I don't have the Tein end links and the OEM end links are a tad too long; understeer has drastically been reduced and the car is way more fun to drive now.

The stock wheels have really grown on me since I've lowered my car, you make me want to buy better tires! I love your stance! I apologize if I missed it, what size tire did you end up going with on your RE-71R?

Thanks! The stock wheels get the job done just fine. I'm not really invested in this car too much and I intend on keeping it that way. I really want an S2000 or to build a 92-95 Civic hatchback since that was my first car and I've had a soft spot for them ever since.

Tires are 205/50/16 square setup which retains a ratio very similar to the factory-sized tires.
