The first gen has Swifts for it too... though, a bit stiffer (front 3 vs 2.3, rear 5 vs 2.1).

If you want to look for it... 4H912

edit: hum... just how different in actual dimensions are they? Any first "genners" want to try putting a 2nd gen set of Swifts on their Fit?

Goobz, the chassis is MUCH stiffer in the GE, even stock spring rates are quite different between the 2 models. Reason why the big difference in rates. You may have known this already, but I believe not everyone knows.

Hey all I have been lurking since I bought my fit a month ago and I have been reading all the swift spring threads I can. I have my springs just waiting for a free weekend to do the install.

The question I had was do I need to cut the bump stops or not?

I have see conflicting posts from members regarding the bump stops and the swifts.

I helped install Swift springs on a GE a couple of years ago and we didn't cut the stops.... I had to on my GD though.

Do not cut them. I went through this when I was gong to install mine. Somewhere there is confirmation you do not need too.

Why would you ever need to cut bump stops.... aren't they there to stop shock damage?

Thanks for the info again all. Springs are all in and the car handles great. One last question, my car seems to be tracking well but the steering wheel is slightly off kilter. Do I just need to get an alignment?

I have a question for others running Swifts on GE8
I've had my Swifts on for a couple of months now and have no issues but I still need to get a alignment.

I have even tire wear and no rubbing with 205/50/16 on stock 12 sport wheels

but I'm wondering if I should run -1* with camber bolts when I do the alignment.
I'm not tracking or auto X just like to hit the canyons every chance I get

zilla- if you're happy with how the car is running i suggest you get just the toe aligned.

it is a good idea to have camber bolts installed even if you dont plan on dialing-in additional negative camber. you can match the camber left/right with the bolts if they are off. without the bolts the shop can't really do anything to adjust.

the SPC bolts can be had for less than $30 from tirerack, so it's really up to you.
i have a set installed, dialed in -1.5 camber with zero toe. works very well for me.

Sounds good I'll pick up the cam bolts and run just a tad of neg camber with 0 toe.

I love the Swifts and even with the whole Family riding along they continue to impress

with so many different spring types on their site, how do you know which one to aim for?
or which spring type is recommended (sport, spec R)?
