I drive my car hard and my focus with my mods is to be able to go faster in corners.

I think I am going to pull the trigger and order one of these. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

I just gave them a call at the number from angryfit, and the mount is 125 shipped to my house. They are going to make me one and sent it over. I am looking forward to trying this part out. I had a chance to talk with John who makes them, this guy knows what he is doing, and is great to talk cars with. He gave me a lot of details on the construction and his thoughts on the mount. I have to say, 125 shipped for this thing is looking like a great deal. I'll let everyone know how the car does after the install.

The price is for one motor mount. Its designed to replace the rear motor mount only. If anyone has questions i would just call the shop and speak with John since he is very knowledgeable and is building the mounts in house.

Just received an email from John regarding my motor mount. They are built to order and mine will be done Weds, and then shipped. It is pretty cool that they are keeping me updated.

So as soon as its out of the car it will be for sale $ 90 shipped.

LOL the thread title is Solid motor mount. . .

i used "window weld" in all 3 of my mounts, it cost 17$ a can and has enough to fill 5 mounts worth. minimal vibe transfer but alot less engine movement then factory. shifts feel clean and power feel like its uped, but i kno its just the transfer of energy being more effeicient. however i also installed a new clutch in the middle of filling my mounts, so idk what made it "feel" like more power

No, I dont have one. looks interesting though! I have 85A mounts.

No need to apologize there, JCrim - your street cred on this forum far outweighs a noob trying to educate you on the GE8.

Seriously. I laughed, too. What is it about a solid motor mount that would NOT lead you to believe there would be an increase in vibration/noise, or harmonics/resonant frequencies from various sources transmitted into the passenger space? I guess I'd be embarrassed too if I DIDN'T expect these results and STILL purchased the mod.

I had a 66 VW Beetle with high compression big bore kit, 283 duration high lift cam, shaved flywheel, custom built clutch, 500 CFM Holley Bug Spray carburetor, Bosch super blue coil and 002 distributor, Nickerson 811 oil pump, Empi exhaust, windage tray, 8 pass Rapid Cool oil cooler 2 1/2 quart extended oil sump, power pulley and solid machined steel motor mounts... That light little car could be seen resonating from 30 feet away and at certain RPM the rear view mirrors were impossible to see through because of vibration but it was relatively quiet inside because there wasn't a shit load of cheap plastic held in place by plastic clips that buzz like crazy from nothing more than a header exhaust with resonated 2/12" downpipe, B pipe with huge resonator, axle back pipe with exhaust control valve, another large resonator and Aero Turbine 2540i muffler. Rear strut and C pillar bars help some but at certain RPM you feel like you are in a huge speaker box with loosely mounted speakers.. Still I am going to do the window weld thing with my mounts and just not wear or turn on my hearing aids when I have to drive on the highway.... I would just keep the stiff mounts if I was in the same position as the OP and buy some industrial strength ear plugs.

i didnt have to remove 2 of the mounts to window weld, the stuff comes with a long tip that i stuck "in" it mounts open space and pumped the weld in. its a pretty easy mod with great results. its touchable after about an hour, and it dries in like a night.(idk if u used window weld but just a heads up)

the mount will sag while it is loaded being mounted in the car. it is best to take them off so that the move back to their neutral position and then window weld it. also, you can do a MUCH better job with them off and you can tape it off and clean it.

You don't need to be sorry, but what exactly did you expect to happen? You mentioned on start-up, how often are you starting up your car daily that you "can't live with the racket"?

It's just 1 mount as well, couldn't imagine what you would think if all 3 were solid. It's cool though, some people need as much comfort as possible and some of us want as raw as we can get. It's what makes the world go round, different strokes for different folks.
