Spoon calipers for GE8?

Has anybody done this? I am considering getting spoon calipers but I dont know what is involved or if it will fit. Ive searched and they made it fit on GD3 with type r rotors and spacers, is this the same for GE. If you have any input or knowledge about this, I appreciate it. Thanks

i have been wanting to do this too, but wasn't able to find spoon twin blocks, everywhere i checked had monoblock in stock and not the twin block, if your wonder what the difference is the monoblcok is bigger and you have to find wheels with lots of brake clearance, twinblock are little smaller, but still needs certian wheels with brake clearance, but running a spacer can do

So for a Spoon Mono-block setup, you can do the following to make it work.

  1. 2006+ Civic FD 300mm rotors
  2. 3mm spacer to space out inside of the rotor, pushing the rotor placement out
  3. Civic FD size S2000 pads
  4. spoon monoblock caliper

for spoon twinblock:
  1. Prelude VTEC 92-96 Rotors – Needs to be redrilled to 4x100.
  2. 3mm Spacers for inside of the rotor
  3. Spoon Twin block calipers
  4. ITR brake pads

that was from my research, i may be wrong so if anyone else thinks so, you can correct me

Will it require the spacers if I have 17" or 18" wheels?

17" and 18" aftermarket wheels should be ok, but be prepared to use a spacer if you have to, cause not all wheels are design with big brakes in mind, but most of the racing style rims (volks, works, advan, enkei etc.) will be ok, but VIP wheels with big lip or dish lets say even in 17" or 18" won't have much brake clearance, so just keep in mind spoke design and offset/width

my friend has a ITR with spoon calipers and he needed spacers to run his 16x7 spoon wheels, but he got some 16x7.5 enkei rpf1 and 16x8 ssr type c, both didn't need to run spacers, just to give you an idea, its not how tall of the rim

i read a thread somewhere about the use of the proper spoon caliper for the GE. it has something to do with the size of the pistons relative to the rotation of the rotor. I searched but couldn't find that thread.

Does anyone know if the spoon twin-block calipers is a direct fitment to the knuckle?
