Christmas in June. Redshifts Koni/Groundcontrol Coilovers

Look what arrived today. If only I had few more hours in the day, I would have tackled this. Gotta wait till the weekend but can't wait to feel difference. Big ups to RedShiftChris for putting in the time and sweat in coming up with this product. More details to come.

Looks really good! How do you adjust the rebound for the Koni Yellow/Sport rear shocks? Is there an adjustment knob?

808_rich, not sure if we could talk bout pricing on this site. I would go to the source and contact RedShiftChris. Great guy to work with.

thanks FitStir. I was fence for a long time bout pulling the trigger on coilovers. You could ask some ppl on this forum. I would hit them up for a ride in their setup but was never fully satisfied. I have logged numerous trips to san jose and vegas and i hate swapping out to my stocks. Just thought this was the best investment to keep me sane. we will soon see. crossing fingers

In for NEED... and review

GREAT choice on going Swift, you won't regret it!

Get a 17mm ratcheting wrench for your front struts, saves pulling the cowl off!!!

I am also anxiously waiting for your review,
especially with the "special" custom spring rate you order

By the way,
Do you have progress rear sway bar installed in your car ?

if you have, I am even more curious to hear your review when you combine Progress rear sway bar with 4k Rear spring rate.
That should be interesting, so I can approximate what would happened to my current suspension if I add Progress Rear Sway bar.
Thanks

Hello FitNasty,

That is why I am anxious for your review,
so after you install your Koni, then please test drive it hard on both bumpy freeway and also on street with many hard corner.
If you feel that your Koni already make your car had plenty of oversteer,
then you should not add the rear Progress sway bar, because otherwise,
it would be too tail happy, unless of course you have the reflect of the rally driver, or even want more oversteer

The way I see it, my car with Bilstein had a rear spring with around 2.4k of spring rate.
and at this moment my car still understeer just a bit (even after I install the front Spoon swaybar), so I think I need the rear progress sway bar to make my car neutral.

so I figure if your Koni with 4k rear spring turn out to be neutral or slight oversteer,
then adding a rear progress bar alone should help MY little understeer.

but if your Koni with 4k rear spring still have understeer then maybe I need harder spring too,...
anyway, I plan to order Progress rear sway bar from Chris,
I had sent him email, but his shop is closed for a week until Monday...

and about body roll, if you still have body roll after installing Koni, then you should try the Spoon Front Sway bar, it practically eliminate 90% of the body roll, I actually feel strange now, driving a Honda with so little body roll

oh, by the way,... I don't know about the current Koni shocks,
but when I buy my Koni front strut for my W124 Mercedes Benz E500 back in 1995, Koni specifically said that I should not turn up the dial setting to maximum until after few hundreds or maybe 1 thousand miles of driving, because the shock valving needs to be broken in first before you can turn it to the max.
Maybe today, the material had improved so no need for broken in anymore.

Good Luck with your install, I am sure you will enjoy it

Can the rear shocks be adjusted without removal? I've seen several adjustment videos and they all show the shocks need to be removed and fully compressed to set the rebound.

I would hate to have to do this every time I needed to adjust. Can you verify this for us. Not a deal breaker or anything just want to know.
