PILLOW BALL TOP MOUNTS Useful?
Is this useful?
From Japanparts.com
Material: Body: Super-duralumin A2017. Bearing: The spherical bearing(MBWT18) is used by the Minebea Company. Bearing case and Nut & collar: Steel (S45C). For Honda OEM shocks and springs. By without using rrubber bush which is supporting the bearing and making a top mount a solid suppression, useless movement of shock absorber is lost and sharp handling is achieved. Moreover, by adopting pillow ball for the bearing and making working of the suspension smooth, a performance the suspension original comes to be demonstrated. It is a design where height doesn't go up, and the original size shock absorber and the use in spring become possible, too. The width of the setting extends because the suspension of the height adjustment type doesn't sacrifice the stroke. BOLT ON.

for street imo, it's better to use the factory bushings. some pillow mounts have excessive noise. it is a wear item and depending on how intensely you use it on the track, you will need to replace them as with bushings.
i had pillow mounts on my other cars running coilovers. they have a direct feel, but not sure if it's worth the extra especially for street use. i mean a lot of folks use crappy tires to begin with, and the sidewall distortion kinda defeats the purpose...
