Tein Street Basis Question

Hey guys,

Need some help/advice on how to go about this problem while installing Tein coilovers.

As you can see the top strut is cracked and I can't seem to figure out how to get that nut off. I don't want to cut it because I need the OEM nut for the coilovers. I've tried using vice grips to hold onto the strut pistons but it still keeps spinning plus I don't think that nut will spin through that crack thread. Any input or help would greatly be appreciated. I've already installed the rear and passenger side fine, it's just the driver side I can't seem to get out.

Second question is anyone with Tein coilovers knows if the upper rubber spring mount sits flushed for the rear?

Here's a link to what I'm talking about

Honda Automotive Parts

It's part 005.

that rubber doesn't sit fully flushed on the Tein coilovers top spring. Am I suppose to cut it? That rubber mount has certain areas where it's bulging out.

Yes, you're suppose to cut the rubber part sticking out from the top mount. It is described in the Tein Manual:
