First post, fitment help please

Hello everyone, this is my first post. I have a 2009 Fit sport and I purchased the Wilwood big brake kit for it. According to the wilwood specs, with the factory 16” wheels the kit should fit. Key word there should as they don’t. When the shop went to put the wheels back on apparently the backspacing of the factory wheels is not enough as the wheel hits the calipers. I’m looking at getting a set of ADVANTI DST STORM S1 17”. The offset is 40mm and backspacing is 5.55” and of corse 17” diameter. Can some please help and confirm these will fit and work with the brakes before I purchase them? Also, any recommendations on tire size? 205/45r17 is what Tire Rack recommends. Thanks in advance for all help.

I'll just assume you're made of money, and went with the 140-10735

if you cant take measurements yourself.... perhaps show that wheel clearance diagram to your wheels seller, and they should be able to assist with your question about clearance/fitment

actually, it would appear the 140-14940 is more expensive.... therefore .... surely you went with that. so yea, show this diagram to your wheels vendor instead

So sorry for not posting the kit number. I have the 140-6163. Thank you for the quick replies and diagrams.

Goobers on here has run into this clearance issue, so he may be able to help.

The problem he ran into was that tpms compatible wheels have a smaller inner diameter to account for the sensor. I believe he found that, to be safe, it's easiest to just go with 17" wheels.

The shop told me that the issue was backspacing not so much diameter. They said would need like 1/2” spacer to work. I found some wheels at a reasonable price that are 14lbs each and would only need a 3mm spacer. Going to upgrade to them and go to a 17x7 from the 16” stocker.

It might be in order to space out the section of the wheel with the tpms sensor. The outer section of the wheels have less clearance than the inner.

Unfortunately nothing has been straightforward for this car. Just about everything that is supposed to fit does not. Still love it so the adventure continues.
