Mini Cooper R94 Bridge Spoke Wheels

Got a great deal on a set of 16" Mini Cooper wheels that I just couldn't pass up.

16" Mini Cooper R-94 Bridge Spoke Wheel

Tires have been ordered and should be delivered tomorrow. In the meantime I figured out which lug nuts to get. An older thread only listed a dead Jeg's link with no description, you need lug nuts with a 60 degree taper seat, or acorn bulge seat, and ET or extended thread shank that allows the nut to engage more threads on the stud. Because the Mini wheels use 14mm bolts and the Fit uses 12mm, the extended thread shank fits perfectly in the wheel hole. The shank on the lug nut measures approximately 5/16" while the thickness of the wheel from the bottom of the nut seat to the back of the wheel measure approximately 3/8" allowing 1/16" so the lug nut does not bottom out on the disc/drum. This will probably be better explained with pics so this is what the lug nut looks like.

Here is a pic explaining what I meant when I said there is approximately 3/8" from the bottom of the lug nut seat to the back of the wheel.

Lug nut fully seated. You can see shank does not bottom out with approximately 1/16" to spare.

Here are a couple of views of the lug nut on the front of the wheel. I like that there is plenty of room to fit a socket to install/remove lug nuts.

That's it for now, I'll update this post with pics when I get the wheels mounted on the car.

Finally got the wheels mounted on the car last night. I purchased 205/55-16R tires from Walmart and three of the four tpms sensors leaked so I took them back and had them install regular valve stems which do not leak. I like the bigger tires as they fill in the wheel well nicely. Still waiting for Honda center cap decals to arrive in the mail.

Great write-up and pictures. Did you need to use hub-ring-adapters to fit the Mini wheels on the Fit?

And those gas prices, though! We pay about $1 more per gallon here in Los Angeles.

Thanks, guys. No hub rings needed. I found out the Mini Cooper wheels have the same center bore as the Fit at 56.1mm so I searched for Mini wheels on craigslist because there seemed to be more for sale at a lower price than Honda wheels around here. The previous owner of the wheels purchased a new Mini Cooper and didn't realize they had switched over to a 5 bolt pattern. He let them go for $20 for all four wheels so I couldn't pass that up. I was out in Southern Cal a few years back visiting relatives and remember wincing every time we drove passed a gas station. Makes you wonder what all those gasoline taxes are paying for.

Yes, on factory steel wheels and scuffed up hubcaps.

The center cap decals finally arrived last week and the 50mm size fit perfectly in the Mini Cooper center cap recess.

And here is what they look like on the car.

I'm really pleased with this mod as it gives a factory appearance. All in, the wheels, lug nuts, and decals totaled ~$45.
