Just ordered my wheels! Need advice

Hey everyone, I just placed an order for some new Volk C28N 8 Spoke in Titanium Silver 16X7 +42 offset. They should get here within 6-8 weeks. My next decisions are tires. I'm leaning towards getting some all summer tires for the Volks, like the Yokohama S Drives 205/45/16. I plan to keep the stock 16 with the Conti DSW tires on them to use as snow tires if need be. I live in Dallas so we only get 3-4 days of snow most of the winter and the snow usually disappears a day later. What do you think about my plan? I know a lot of people like the DSW but does anyone have any info about the S Drives? I'm lowered on Swift Springs so I believe that the 205/45/16 shouldn't give me any rubbing problems, right?

Its ok, we just need that to clarify though.

I wouldn't think so since the GE8's factory tire size for 205s is 205/50R16s, you'll be running the smaller diameter 205/45R16.

Never the less, its a good chance that there will be some tire rub due to tread width and wheel offset since GE chassis is a bit more "sensitive" to those two key elements... or more rather the combination of the two. Now with that said, this is with the early pre-Minor Model Change GE8s. I honestly do not know if the wheel tubs have been altered to allow lower offsets/wider tires.

Don't know how much the swifts lower it, I have the Eibach pro kit on my '09, same size & offset wheels with 205-50's and I get a little rub on hard bumps. Been meaning to install camber bolts but of course never have. You may get lucky with the 205-45's, do let us know what happens.

There's this no rubbing / yes rubbing thread about Swifts that may help. https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...ire-specs.html

You will be fine with that set up. I have the same wheel/tire size combo and I am a hell of a lot lower then you probable are. I only rub on the front a little with hard bumps or turns, I also have a GD so you will be fine.
