Thule Drilled Racks

I know a few people on here were looking to get racks installed when the fit kit came out but I could wait no longer and had them drilled an installed. Plus they look better and don't damage door sills.

A brief warning: During the install, they added a few small dints along the door panel, above the doors. When I was putting my kayak atop my car, my ELBOW added a dint as well! Just from resting it there... they are hardly visible, but now I am worried about what fit kits will do resting on that section of the car. If my elbow (Im a 5'4 woman) dents that area, what will feet and the weight of the racks do?!

The rack install was done by Rack 'n Road in Bellevue WA and was going to cost 700$, they took 20% off because of the dings that they left which was nice.

If you guys have any questions, let me know. I carry two rec kayaks with Thule J racks.

Also to add; this set up can haul much more weight than clamp type. I too ended up with those pesky little dents along the roofs edge. No way around it, that entire roof is just soft metal.....

Looks great! Wish I had the balls to have my roof drilled.. I miss my BMW's roof rack that was bolted to the hidden threads under the gutters.
