I cut a vertical seam at the middle of the airbag deployment zone. I doubt that something this flimsy will affect the airbag deployment, but with the seam it just gets pushed out of the way.

This is my kind of shopping! Do you happen to have a picture of the stuff on your dash? Does it really work?! Thanks!

The material and stitching is as good as it ever was.

I think that's the case.

They have cuts to allow the airbag to operate, but quite frankly, they're so light, the airbag is going to push it up to the windshield.

Just got a dashdesigns.com for my 2010. They said the black velour is best for glare reduction. Fit is decent and it stays in place without Velcro. Covers more than it needs too, but no big deal. I could see if you lived in Arizona or Hawaii, you'd want maximum coverage.

It's not really glare that's the problem--it's the reflection of the dashboard.

I guess I just don't see the point of a dashmat unless it is to keep dust off the dash or if car is parked in hot sun all the time to protect dash from cracking.
A quality pair of sunglasses eliminates the reflection and helps driver with better visibility all around.

Cinder in full sun... it appears lighter than it really is.
That's a purple fleece blanket over the rear seat.

Yes, it's the reflection of the dashboard. Civics have the same issue, but not as bad. Some of us wear glasses so clip-on polarized sunglasses are a dorky and expensive option. At least a dash cover is inexpensive and you can always remove it. I wonder if there such a thing as a stretchy glare control film. Kind of like vehicle wrap but with a dull surface.

For me, it's just about protecting the dash from the sun... but as mentioned above, it hides the dust too.

When you mention sun reflection off the dash, do you mean the sunlight is actually hitting the dash and going into your eyes or the light off the dash clouds the windshield? Do dashmats help with the glare on the glass when driving into the sun? I hate that I get a gray hue on the windshield from the dash.

Hiya, not sure if this was directed at me, but I actually meant both. My main issue is really with the sun bouncing off the dash and back into the windshield, which I then have trouble seeing out of. I still haven't had time to order a dash mat, but I think one is definitely in order. Plus, my dash is constantly covered in particles of dust (I roll my windows down quite a lot, and I have 2 long-haired pets) that get blown around as soon as I turn the air on. The mat will probably hold onto more of it, and prevent it from blowing around.

The main issue is a reflection of the dash on the inside of the windshield when driving in the direction of the sun. I got a black dash mat, problem solved. It stays in place without a problem so I skipped the Velcro strips they include.

Of all the dash mats I've owned, I've never used or needed the Velcro strips.

Ironic that dash mats are supposed to protect your dash, but the adhesive from the Velcro can ruin your dash.
