No fast forward on USB? (solved)

Well I've read through the manual and the tech guide and I can't find any way to fast forward music playing via USB drive in my EX. This might not seem like a big deal, but with 2 hour long podcasts on the thumbdrive, this is a big big miss.

Have any of you cracked the code? Anyone found a hidden FF button?

Thanks!

I have never used a USB drive for music but I do connect my iPod to the USB and have no issues with any of the controls. Can you try an iPod to compare your results?

iPod control works as normal when tested with my mobile (IE you can hit buttons on the phone to FF 15 seconds, but it doesn't appear that they've built a fast forward feature into the radio itself, only next track or next folder. Seems like quite the design oversight.

Not really interested in paying $300 for an iPod with the storage capacity that I can get for $30 in thumb drive form, not to mention smaller form factor. :/

On my 2010 Fit, I can control a flash drive though my radio, same as if I hook up my iPod to the usb cable. Is this what you are referring to?
It did help that I organized the files a bit on the flash drive. Seems as though it would work the same on the new Fit. Also it is not really fast forward, but selecting different songs or skipping over others. Not real fast forward like a cd or tape.

Yes this is the problem. If one "song" is 2 hours long, you need the ability to fast forward. Not skip to the next track.

Success! If you go to the music screen (not in folder view) at the bottom of the screen there are two jog buttons, Folder and Track. If you hold down the track button, it will fast forward and rewind. I'm bummed that they didn't work this feature into the steering-wheel controls (i mean there are two blanks on the cruise control side that could have easily been FF/RW) but alas, at least the feature exists.

Happy listening fellow Fitizens!

Is this only for the touch screens? I don't see a folder and track folder on the LX. If only the holding onto the next track button fast-forwards it...
