Ram iPad Suction Cup Mount
Ram iPad Suction Cup Mount
Hello All!
I am enjoying my new 2015 Honda Fit EX. Just passed the 1,000 mile mark today. I bit of history this is my second Honda. I have a 2013 Accord Coupe V6 EX-L + Nav. I love the car, just couldn't justify putting all of the work related mileage onto the car, so I decided a Honda Fit for work purposes is much more efficient. ( I drive upwards of 25k miles a year )
Anyways on to the Mount!
So I enjoyed having Nav on my other car and didn't like the screen resolution of the Fit... I decided I rather just mount up my iPad and use it as a large Nav/Music Player.
I purchased this iPad Air/Air 2 mount to hold my iPad Air 2: I did a bit of research and made sure that the model number supported both types of iPads, it is a perfect fit.
I also bought this Ram Suction Cup Base Unit:
Amazon.com: Ram Mount RAM-B-166-202U RAM Mount Twist Lock Universal Suction Cup Mount with 2.5" Diameter Mounting Base with Universal AMSE Hole Pattern: GPS & Navigation
I was hoping initially to mount the iPad to the front drivers small window in the front corner? 1/4 panel window I guess. But the iPad proved too big and the Suction Cup Base Unit was too short in order to get it in the optimum position.
I tried to mount it to the wind shield, above below next to the rear view mirror but it ended up blocking too much of the windshield for safe driving. I noticed that the touch screen was flat enough for the suction cup to grip and decided to go with this.

The only thing it really blocks is the lane-change camera and reverse camera but since the visibility of the car is so good I really haven't missed them too much.
Enjoy!
