Magic seat - seat belt elastics

Is there a guide anywhere about how to get the seatbelt elastics correct? So they work correctly when the magic seat folds about?

My passenger back seat side elastics seem Not-Quite-Right, and my fixing of them has made them Somewhat-Worse.

Define "side elastics" …… I flip one or both down and up on a regular basis, am unsure of what you speak of

There are little elastic loops that hold onto the seat belts buckles.

I removed the back seats, not an issue anymore.

They are black elastics that hold the seat belt buckles from falling through the space between the seat and the seatback.

OK.....guess the word "side" threw me …..I long ago stuffed the center buckle beneath the seat as I'll never have more than 4 folks in the car.....guess I'll have to look one of these days, don't even recall any "elastic" ….LOL

It's like a bra for the seatbelts. One of them perfectly holds the seatbelts, the other looks like someone messed with it. And then I messed with it and made it worse. Just wondering how it used to work. (If it did)

I don't think they are essentials. I doubt the seat belt buckles would slip behind the seats without the elastics, unless you physically push them behind the seats..

Looks like without the elastics, they'd end up on the underside of the seat when you fold up the magic seat.

Actually, mine does slip under, and it's a pain to fish it out. Not so bad that's one of my top complaints though.

I was wondering if someone could take a close up of this area. (I know this is not really a big problem, for some reason it bothers me...)

Indeed, whether I fold up the seat bottoms, or fold down the seat backs, whenever it comes time to put the seats back into standard 5-passenger postion, I always struggle to fish out the seat-belt latches. Car was that way when I took it home new from the dealer. I think I spent about 12-14 hours trying to re-arrange the elastic loops, and then gave up.

Does it matter? If so, go to the dealer, locate a Fit on the lot and and check out the arrangement. I hope you get some sleep tonight.
