Check with dealer. I'm the original poster. I had an issue with the start/stop button that Honda had to replace and it cost me $450, plus cost of a new battery. Some time later, maybe a year or so, I received a letter stating that they would reimburse me if I sent them receipts. I submitted the receipts from the dealer and later received a check in the mail from Honda. Sounds like it was a big enough issue for them to reach out to me. Good luck.

Mine went on and off for months and finally I brought it to the dealer. I told them I found that Honda extended the warranty on that switch for 9 years and they said no problem, they know about the warranty. They told me that if it is another issue, they will charge me for the diagnostic and whatever it takes to fix it. It turned out it was indeed the switch and there was NO charge whatsoever. So take it to the dealer and tell them Honda knows that it's a common issue and have a 9 year warranty on it.

Thanks all. It has been going off and coming back on. I'll pull my copy of the letter and go to Honda.

You'll be glad you just got it done and they did mine rather quickly. Besides these little things that pop such as this, I love my 2015 standard shift Fit. Guess I'll keep it as long as it keeps going fine. I only have just above 70,000 miles on it.

I also have 70K on mine. I do love it.

How long does the fix take? If it's quick I'll wait at the dealership.

They gave me the typical free Honda user car to use and wouldn't allow me to wait for it. I can't remember exactly, but I think i dropped it off later that morning and by the evening they told me it was done. Of course, that doesn't mean that will be the case for all dealerships and cars.

It takes an hour. By the time I choked down the free coffee and snacks it was ready. I think flat rate is .7 hours.

Sounds like the dealers got it down better how to just get the issue fixed in a timely manner. Glad it worked out so well for you.

The actual time for me was also about an hour. The wait time to start the work another hour. Not bad, and two months before the 9 year warranty would have been invalid.

Mine has been on for probably 2-3 years lol.. Always assumed it was the key fob battery light.

There's only been one single day where the push button didn't work right away. I'll have to see if our car still qualifies for the fix, glad I found this thread!

Better go get it fixed before 125000 miles or 9 years, read my 'starts then immediately dies' thread. My problem was exactly the start button.
