1.5L Earthdreams engine.

My 2016 Fit has a non-turbo 1.5 earthdreams engine, with GDI technology. When I check the oil I notice that the oil level is above the max oil level line and it smells like gasoline. I know that oil dilution was a problem for the turbocharged engine that is used in the latest CRV's, but not in non-turbo engines like the one used in the Fit. Does any other Fit owner have this same oil dilution problem? If so, is there any remedy for it?

Unless you have the engine that was affected I wouldn't worry about it. Did you pull the dip stick after a short drive?

Get a used oil analysis done to get some real numbers.

Did you recently have the oil changed or is this the factory fill you're referring to? My 2017 Fit would smell like gasoline as well when I would pull the dipstick to inspect the oil level; I attributed this to the car using GDI tech.

I have prepaid for oil changes for the life of the car. It gets a regular oil change at the dealership when my oil life drops below 50%. I do not push the car too hard when I drive. The majority of miles are on the highway.

My oil level from the dealer on my new 2019 was over the full mark and at the top of the orange. This was measured cold in the new reception/service/delivery area of the stealership. I told them this and had it marked on my service record. The Sales Manage grumbled a bit but allowed it. It has since come down to rest a hair above the full mark in my "measured level x/y axis" garage floor where I check all my oil levels.

i had that problem once with about 5k on the odometer , was during winter ,and a few days after i had it idling in my driveway for about an hour . had the oil analyzed by blackstone labs .the oil checked out fine , was a trace of fuel but was well within tolerances .also , reading the dipstick is tricky . first , make sure it's completely cleaned off .if the stick is showing a high level check the other side . the lower side is the correct reading . you'll see a dry spot ,that's where the oil level stops .as far as i've seen , it almost always shows it's over the line on one side of the stick and lower on the other .not an easy stick to read

An easy way to read the dipstick is to lay it down on a paper towel- then you can move it a bit to the side and see where the wet stops.

Dipsticks on all three of my Hondas have been hard to read. If your oil is clean, like after an oil change, forget about it. You can't see any d**n thing on the dipstick. A pain in the a**, but not a crisis.
