2019 Drivers seat and seatbelt questions

Wondering if my car is the only one with this issue or not.

I have my drivers seat back as far as will go and I still feel a bit too close to steering wheel/pedals. I’m only 5”4 so don’t understand this. Any other car I have driven has moved back more. I don’t see how anyone taller could comfortably sit and drive that way.

The seatbelt doesnt pull out as much as other cars either. It is tough to get around me and buckle, especially right now with a winter coat on..

Is anyone else’s like this too. Or have I got a dud. I haven’t had a chance yet to take to dealer to see if anything can be done to change them.

Have you checked to see if there is something blocking the mechanism from moving back further? Does the seat slide forward without issue?

It slides forward and back easily. Haven’t noticed anything that could block it.

Maybe take a picture of the seat rail with the seat pushed back all the way and post it? Maybe someone can post theirs to compare it.

Also not trying to be insensitive, but my brother-in-law borrowed my car. We're about the same height but he has to move the seat further back because of his, ummm "girth" if you get my drift.

A friend complained that he could not get the fit he wanted in the Fit. If he slides the seat back far enough to be where he wants to be with the pedals, he says that he can't get the steering wheel close enough.

I'm about twice his age, and as you get older you tend to sit a little closer to get better leverage, so although I'm a lot taller than he is, I fit in the Fit.

Wearing a big coat...I don't know. Maybe I would also have a problem.

I don't wear coats in the car, though.

If you move the passenger seat all the way back, you should be able to duplicate the distance backwards with the drivers seat. In other words, if you can't move the drivers seat as far back as the passenger, then something is blocking the drivers.

I'm 6'2 and this sounds suspicious. Also, the steering wheel telescopes.

I'm about 6' 3" with long arms and I am OK, just, in our 2019 Fit. Something must be wrong if you are having problems.

This was also my first thought, OP if you are comfortable with it, sharing your weight may help us help you, if the problem isn't a stuck track. I am 5'7", about 150 lbs, and have the seat probably half way. I have plenty of room to move back

Also, the steering wheel telescopes and moves up and down. But you said your feet are the issue, the seat does also move up and down vertically. The large handle on the left side of the seat does this. And I noticed the up/down of the seat makes a large difference in how my legs/feet fit

So Honda says there is nothing wrong and they can’t adjust anything to make it better. So I will just have to live with it till I can pay it off and then look for something else more comfortable..

I wouldn't be settling for that.
If they have agreed there is a problem, they need to address it.

How one FEELS about the ergonomics of a vehicle is very subjective.
I'm about 5'10" and not small...and I don't have any problem with how I feel behind the wheel of my 2016 Honda Fit.

But that reality is worthless to somebody who doesn't feel comfortable with the ergonomics.

But IF the question is is there something "different" about the OP's vehicle?
Well that should be easily answered.

Go to the showroom and SIT in another 2019 or 2020 Fit, does it feel the same? Same distance back possible?
As I said earlier the passenger seat and the drivers seat should be able to be moved back, the same distance. Put the passengers all the way back, and see if you can move the drivers seat back the same distance. If you can't? Something is physically wrong. -It should be fixable.

If it turns out...it simply is what it is? Well then it's up to the OP. Maybe some time would just find you adjusting to the difference? But if you are NEVER going to be comfortable with it?
Then yeah...you don't have too much choice but to move on.

Kind of obvious question, but I would ask the OP if they are aware of the lever that adjusts the drivers side seat BOTTOM height/angle? It kind of raises it up or down a little. It's not much, but I've found that a few clicks either up or down really can make a difference in how the seat feels.

The Fit is a subcompact hatch. I don't expect luxury car, or even high end vehicle standards in this regard. But I'm surprised the OP is so dissatisfied as I'm guessing I'm a bigger person, and I've always actually been very impressed with how Honda has been able to make the Fit "feel" like a much bigger vehicle than it actually is. ,
It's such a perfectly orchestrated illusion, that sometimes when I see another FIT on the road, I'm taken aback by how small the vehicle actually is....because I feel like I'm driving something much bigger.
