Seat Update
Seat Update
I have a 2013 Fit base, 5 MT. Bought it used w/ 4000 miles on it 15 months ago. After the first week, had back problems due to seat. I tried different stuff (like foam cushions, etc) and what worked was stuffing a towel into a 24" long tube sock and putting that on the seat, where the top & bottom come together. My chiropractor told me to do that.
Well, that worked fine for a few months, then started having back problems again. Talked to my chiropractor again and he said to recline the seat back a few notches and see what works best. So, ended up reclining the seat 2 notches from upright, kept the sock in place, and now it works waaaay better. Still have a slight irritation from the seat, but it doesn't bother my back anymore. Just had to get used to sitting with the seat reclined more.
Also adjusted the steering wheel and moved the seat back a bit. Noticed that it helps me to get a better shift - not getting jerky shifts like I used to sometimes. I read in another post where someone put shims under the front seat, and I think I'm kind of accomplishing the same thing by reclining the seat. I love my Fit, but wish Honda had made better seats.
Just thought I'd pass that along.

It is easy to place anywhere from 1 -3 washers under the seat. Just pop the caps off and take bolts out. Slide washers in and try it. I started with 3 and now down to 1.
Also the gas pedal mod will relieve back discomfort. Go here - https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...tml#post986273

sorry I think the washers is a safety issue.
back pain sucks. yes, the fit interior is pretty utilitarian. There really isn't any fundamental seat upgrades in the fit world (there are definitely ways of fitting in non-fit seats but that is a very different discussion and I haven't seen much talk about that)

I too noticed back issues on the first day. I just got my 2015 Fit yesterday, and love it. However, after giving everyone a ride, (about 35 miles total) my lower back was really feeling it. I am just heart sick if this is going to be a problem. I never had a car give me a back ache. What have other who experienced this do? Thanks
Have a look at this thread https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...pport-fix.html
I have back problems, and bought a jazz because it had the most comfortable seats when test driven. As soon as my car was delivered I noticed the seat felt wrong, something was pressing in the small of my back and making it very uncomfortable. After searching this forum I found the above tip, and used cable ties to hold the lump in the seat away, and for the last 30 months it's worked for me. You can tune the cable ties to adjust the seat back to suit you, if it doesn't work, remove the ties and the seat is back to normal.

Saving your seat suggestion
Thanks Bill,
I have made note of you suggestion. And will scope out the seats to understand what your saying. So far I haven't driven the new Fit long enough to know if this problem will get worse. Right now I am using a BackJoy shell. So far it feels good, but again I haven't driven on it long enough. My upcoming 400 trip will tell me for sure.
