Back Seat FIT SPORT - will not flip up

Hi - there is another post on broken hinge when the whole seat is DOWN, but my seat is in "normal" position and will not allow me to flip the seat UP.

(The little "thing-y" that clamps over the bottom seat rail and is supposed to release when you gently pull up the seat cushion does not "give". i cannot push it with my finger. It's the driver's side. any ideas? Whack it with a hammer?

((I put this on a seat thread a month ago but did not get any replies - so I am being greedy and starting a whole new thread.))

thx

Just looked mine over to make sure. Don't know if its the same with the GE but not too many moving parts. Just a hook and a slot for the seat bar with rollers. Looks like spring-loaded. Have you tried moving the hook with your fingers? Mine moves easily. Try prying with a straight slot screwdriver? Might want to just take the car back if still under warranty.

Yank up on the seat and it should let go. I've got to jerk-up quite firmly.

Have you tried putting the seats in cargo mode (laying down)? might allow the latch to release.
my seats after cargo mode are always in tall (up) mode.
