On my 2018 Fit, I think it gets better gas mileage without econ mode being turned on...whodathunk?

 

Some may be overcompensating for the muted throttle response in econ mode and getting worse mileage because of that. I definitely got better gas mileage with econ on. Now that it's summer and I moved in town from a rural, I don't use econ.

 

I long since stopped using Econ. Gas is too cheap, and the benefit too small. Plus the car is slow enough without it on.

 

Always got 2-3 better MPG with Econ. on.

 

In the city I leave it off. But on road trips on the highway I do use it.

With that said, below 40 MPH the car has a ton of pickup and go. The only time I've had problems with this is when I have a lot of weight in the car, such as 4 people with cargo (I start to notice it get sluggish with 3 people).

ECON remaps the throttle and decreases the A/C. If you want max A/C, turn off the ECON.

 

I never used it. My driving style allows for 40+ mpg, which I am quite happy.
