Farewell

After owning my 2015 Fit EXL since it was new 9/8/15, I'm trading it in for a CPO 17 Civic EX. The frustrating infotainment system in the Fit, road noise, poor power, rough ride, and poor fit&finsh on this first model year car have all been driving me nuts for most of the time that I've had it. Oh and the banana yellow too. I Had a 10 Fit Sport before that and loved it. My son has it and it's still a blast to drive. I'll be picking up the Civic tomorrow. They are giving me 10K for my car and the Civic is 17,100 with 1.9% 36 months from Honda for a CPO. My monthly payment was high and I have a year to go. Now I'll have 3 years to go and I'll finally have CarPlay and a decent sounding radio. XM is included in the 17 head unit. My wife has been driving a CPO 16 Civic for the past year. We both love it. May daughter bought a 17 Civic LX and loves it. My only concern is for winter driving, 2 winters ago I got snow tires for the Fit. Now I may need to do that again, but I will wait and see how it goes. If anyone wants to take the 4 snow tires without rims off my hands, just let me know. Anything I can get for them for would worth it to me. So long my Honda Fit which I've affectionately called "The Banana" for 5 years. Sigh

You kept it for 5 years, so you must like it despite all the negatives. With the trade, I know the dealer loves you. My 2017 Fit LX CVT has over 63K miles. It gets me anywhere I want to go, cheaply and reliably. I don't want or need any of the bells and whistles. This Fit is a keeper.

30K miles and in excellent condition. The dealer does indeed. I did like my Fit, but the Civic is a step up and not at a significant premium.

$17k for a four year old 19-20k car? That seems extremely high.

I had a oic of the original window sticker. I believe it was just over $21K. This is a CPO which means they replaced lots of things. While I feel that the price is a little high, they're also giving me a bit more for my trade. I got a lower offer from the same dealer within the past year or so. The .99% financing from Honda is also a factor. I've been wanting to get out of my Fit for some time and am surprised at how long I made it. I will still miss it, but am looking forward to the Civic. Used car prices are up, inventory is low, and I feel that this is a good deal for me right now.

Yea. I wish I would have spent the extra money for the Civic hatch about after three months of owning my Fit

The Fit and Civic are in different classes. If you buy a sub-compact, know well what you are buying and then you'll understand why it's priced lower!!! I speak from experience. Having a previous GE, currently a '15 GK and a '20 FK8, the Civic is certainly a step up in both space and features. Gotta pay more though!!!
Other than a few recalls, my trusty Fit continues to putter along reliably while being frugal on gas. Will be keeping this puppy for years to come.🐕
We occasionally part with items and sometimes realize it's true worth when they are gone. There will be no GK replacement for NA. Truly a sad development!😔

I don'r care for the look of the hatch. The sedan is fine for me. I'll miss the magic seats, but I don't used them much beyond ease in vacuuming out the rear floor area.

Exactly! Different class, different strengths. Compared to Civic, Fit/Jazz is smaller, lighter and has better space efficiency. For my use a 4 meter car is just optimal size for daily driving, it's easy to squeeze into small parking lots, nimble to drive on small streets and roads and just perfect internal space for our family of four. And when I need more transporting capacity, I'll take my old reliable orange beast Mercedes 308D 7-seater doppelkabine truck.

My OP should have said 17 Civic. I'll correct that
