2015-2019 vs 2020?

Yet again, I'm thinking about getting another Fit. In all my searching, I always see parts for 15-19 models. Is the 2020 different? USDM models, of course. I'm looking at a 2020 but it would be nice if it was able to use parts from the previous years of the same gen.

Thanks

The 2015 to 2020 are all the same generation and virtually identical. However there was a minor redesign in 2018 with some changes such as better sound insulation, improved windshield with better noise resistance (thicker???), some changes to trim, etc. There was also the addition of the Honda Sensing technology which notably included adaptive cruise control and other safety features. Included as standard on some models, optional on others and not available on others with US/Canada differences.

US cars have tire pressure monitoring systems, Canadian cars have other things like a larger windshield washer container.

Newer models are more likely to have old problems fixed. I certainly wouldn't recommend anything older than a 2018. The main components like engine and transmissions are identical all the way through the years.

My Japanese manufactured 2017 has been perfect. I wouldn't buy a Honda made outside of Japan or U.K.

Yes, that one year they made it in Japan before moving it back to Mexico was a high note for the Fit quality wise, although unfortunately that year missed out on the updates a year later to the 2018 model (if they matter).

For MY 2020 Japan made models had different boot floor, which disabled the possibility to store a spare tire. Also the fuel tank evaporation charcoal filter system is different.

The USDM 2020 is the exact same as the 18-19 models. Has the facelift and much of the same technologies. It is the same chasis and body as the 15-17, however there isnt the same facelift that can be seen on the 18-20 models. Same engine, suspension, brakes, and exhaust (except the sport models)

Sometimes I wonder if the facelift bumpers will bolt on and fit.

My J-VIN 2017 CVT with 33K only had one minor hiccup so far. Had to jumpstart the battery after two snowy nights in Tahoe. Glad I brought the portable jumper. Other than that, only warning light I've seen so far is the TPMS. Everything is still pretty much original(battery, tires, brakes...) Only have changed the wipers, filters, oil and coolant so far. Planning on doing CVT and brake fluid change soon. Very happy with my 2017 CVT Fit. Only wish it had higher ground clearance.

Wasn't that just from 130 HP to 128 HP? Not significant. I don't think I ever heard the reason and it may have just been a measurement issue.

At least in the US, 2020 is a no-go for me because 2018 and 2019 are the only model years with manual transmission EX trim.
That was the only way to get manual transmission + Honda-Sensing combination.

There is no such thing as 2020 EX manual transmission (in the US).
