Rumbling sound after changing cabin filter
Rumbling sound after changing cabin filter
Hi fellow fit owners,
I want to begin by saying I have already read several threads about similar issues but none have had any answers and are all posted 5+ years ago.
After self replacing the cabin air filter on my 2015 Fit, there is a strange rumbling noise (similar to a lawn mower) that only becoming loud/noticeable after I turn the fan speed to 3 or 4. I have noticed that the passenger air vent (far right) has become slightly less powerful that the other three air vents, and that the noise is slightly louder when the air is set to any mode involving air being blown to the legs/feet.
There is around 2-3 tiny pieces of dried leaves that fell into the duct/fan/exhaust thing under the air filter when I changed filters, but I am confident that they are not the cause of the rumbling noise. One thing I should mention was while the car was on and the fan speed was set at 1 (the lowest) I accidentally stuck a finger into the duct/fan under the air filter and one of the plastic blades hit my finger. Could that be the cause of the noise? Otherwise Is there any solution to this noise before I bring it into the shop and get my entire student savings drained? I might also leave it be since it isn’t really noticeable when the fan speed is under 3 and the effected air vent is on the passenger side lol.
Thanks,
Nack
