2015 EX Moonroof issue

I just bought a '15 (57,000 miles) with the manual transmission and absolutely love it! The problem I'm having is that the moonroof doesn't work. No matter how I position the switch (tilt, open, close) it'll go up (Tilt mode) then close down in one motion without stopping , and sometimes rear of the glass will be a quarter inch or so below the roof so I have to manipulate the switch to close it flush. Sometimes if I hit the switch while it's moving It'll stay in tilt, but definitely not normal operation and I've never been able to get the glass to slide open. Also, there is no debris in the tracks, what little can see.

I bought it from a Nissan dealer so not sure it would make sense to go back there since they are not Honda specialist.

Any ideas? This car is amazing...well to me it is but this moonroof issue is a real downer. Thanks.

I would absolutely bring it back to the dealer where you purchased it from and have them diagnose and correct the problem. They don’t need to be a Honda dealer to make the needed repairs/adjustments as most sunroofs operate the same way and a trained technician should be able to diagnose the problem.

The switch is a complicated mess that is in pieces. When I took mine apart, I was lucky to be able to put it back together. It's not a contained unit like the power window or door locks. It's an electronic waferboard with a spring, and some sliding contacts. It comes apart!

Yeah that's what I figure since the motor obviously works.

The mistake I made was that in my excitement about the car, I didn't check it until I drove in home.

Action Jackson, what prompted you to remove the switch?

I was trying to add color to the lighted portion of the switch.

Update: The dealer said it was the switch so they replaced it.
