GK5 Brake Light on hatch
GK5 Brake Light on hatch
This generation Fit has brake lights on the body but then there are separate brake lights running up the hatchback. Are these totally fake or do they have a purpose?
I can't get them to do anything, so LMK if mine are broke. I tried lights, brakes, reverse, & turn signals. Assumed they are fake for style or maybe just non-powered reflectors. But (I post this question because) today browsing a Honda parts website I see a photo of them with wires hanging out of them like they are powered

Fake fake.
You can buy third party replacements with lighting and wiring which can apparently be hooked up to the existing brake lights. I think I saw them on Aliexpress. Someone may have posted something here about them which first brought them to my attention..

BTW, I just noticed the rear signal lights on the GK5 are the red, lower portion of the tail light.
I always thought the signals were a yellow bulb in the center section (shared with the reverse light).
I can't say I like that design. I always prefer a yellow rear flashing light as opposed to red (safety reasons).
