This car has been the best 9900 I ever spent. Bought it in March of 2014 with 14k miles. Almost 11 years and 133k miles later and I’ve only done regular maintenance. Just put some new tires and brakes on it. Will probably replace the battery before next winter (in about 10 months).
I did have a scare with the alternator/battery giving off weird signals about 4-5 months ago. Who knows if the autozone/advance auto diagnostics are correct. Also, I noticed about a couple months ago over a 1-2 week period there was some slippage in the early gears. Went away and never came back.
I’ve gotten the oil changed at normal intervals according to the maintenance minder. Didn’t spark plugs and coolant at 100k. Did the ATF at 120k. Will do the coolant at about 160k (5 years for coolant and 2.5 years for the ATF). I’ll probably do the brake fluid at that point too.
Haven’t replaced any parts yet (serpentine, idler and tensioner, pcv valve, thermostat, etc).
Well guys I did end up trading my 2019 Fit Sport in for a 2025 Civic Hybrid. While I do miss the space the Fit had, the acceleration and gas mileage is incredible with the new Hybrid. I will eventually buy another Fit one day though.
Nothing pays back as much in mileage/power/drivability on Honda engines as regular valve adjustments.
Everything they make from a lawn mower to a S2000 seems to be engineered with that requirement,
even though they seem to blow it off in public.. THe GD1's really needed valve adjustment about every 12K..
I aways found at least 1 or two that were out of spec..

speaking about valve adjust , what is the schedule for the GK ? mine has about 62 k , runs well , still getting great milage

will be changing them this spring along with the coolent . will probably put new 195 / 55 rubber on the car soon . i did the transmission oil ( 6sp ) last year , along with new brakes and plugs .
also due for a front alignment .
What I've been able to divine about valve adjustment (at least on the GK) is "every 100k or when it needs it". Properly vague. I had it done around 95k (along with plugs and some other maintenance) because I'd had the car a year and my regular tech is not a Honda expert and I wanted a tech really familiar with these cars to give it a lookover. I can't say the car runs any differently now and winter temps are giving fuel mileage a hit (~4 mpg). But now I know it's been done and the car is in good shape.
btw grew up for a while around Huntington Station. Nice house with a pool and an apple orchard behind. Lots of fun.
2017 Fit LX CVT 153K miles. Absolutely perfect. Mostly highway miles, 40+mpg with undercover removed since first oil/filter change. First brake job at 144K miles. Nothing else got replaced except 3 sets of Sentury tires from Discount Tires. Besides brake job, I do all maintenance myself. I use the low cost gas. I am amazed the Fit is so reliable that in December 2023 I drove US 50 across Nevada,"Loneliest Road in America", alone. The rear seats were replaced by a board so I can sleep diagonally with the passenger seat and seat back pushed all the way forward. Nothing fancy I sleep with down blanket on sofa cushions Windows are covered with fitted cardboards to keep light out. Perspiration will freeze if the door is not slightly open.

I have a 2018 Honda Fit Sport in 6 Speed MT that has around 145K. I bought the car last year that had 135K and it's been great! No issues whatsoever! I do most of the maintenance stuff myself. the only thing I've only done is draining and filling the transmission oil, and other basic stuff like air filters and oil changes. When I first bought the car, the spark plugs were fine, but I think I might as well replace the spark plugs and coils. Adjusting the valves is another thing I plan to do, but I'm still trying to decide if it's doable. CDV delete using the Exedy MC553 is up next. Hopefully, in two weeks!
My 2016 FitLX was bought used earlier in Aug '24. It had 149000 on the odometer. I opened an excel spreadsheet to log in the maintenance on the Carfax from the used car lot. The owner lived in Rumford, RI, I live in Warwick. There were many listings of service done in NY, SO I assume the huge number of miles were from long highway trips.
My plan is to do oil / transmission (CVT) coolant changes this spring. MY local mech can eyeball the brakes . I will only put about 3000 a year on it, as I am retired. So I think annual service on the engine oil would work out.
I'm also retired and only put about 5000 KM (4000 Miles) a year on it. I change the oil and filter twice a year regardless of mileage (climate is a big factor here). I've changed the brake fluid, rad fluid, CVT fluid once. I have about 40,000 KM (26000 mi). I've also cleaned and re-greased the front disks (sliders, back of pads etc) to get rid of braking noise I was experiencing. Spark plugs, coils and valve adjust I'll do around 100k miles, many years away.
