2018 EX water leak issue
2018 EX water leak issue
Hey guys and gals, so my 2018 has been leaking like a civ whenever it rains, I took it to my local dealer, and they cleaned out the sunroof drain lines, but does anyone else have an issue with it leaking after, I feel like my issue is actually the weather stripping.
I'll wait and see after the next heavy rain storms.
The water would collect in the left cup holder dribble down under the dash, and on the door/speaker and on the floor leaving a giant puddle.

I'd pull the roof moldings and look at the seam sealer where the roof skin and roof pillar meet and get spot welded.
It is not uncommon for the seam sealer to have some thin points, crack over time and allow water to wick in across Honda's model range for the last 18 to 20 years or so. Seen it in Fits, CR-Zs, Accords, HR-Vs, first and second gen Pilots... Maybe a couple other stragglers. The sealer either erodes away and/or stress cracks with the chassis flexing over time.
Also if the windshield has ever been replaced, it would be wise to check for sealing issues as well. Spraying a mixture of car soap and water over the suspected area then use an air nozzle to blow from the cabin side of the car out, bubbles will become visible as air passes through the leak point.
