Hi! I don't have a Fit yet, so all I have to go by is the automatic transmission Fits I've been test driving. Yesterday I drove a 2016 EX MT which makes a disturbing sound for approx. 1 sec. when I push the Engine Start button. And, oddly enough AGAIN when I turn off the engine. The same sound. It reminded me of an electric antenna extending when the car starts and then retracting when it turns off.

Searching here, there's a lot of threads on noises at startup (starter, belts, etc.) but this makes the same noise when shutting off. I really like it and may purchase, but would love to know what else to be looking for or troubleshooting before I pull the trigger. Any thoughts?

I don't recall it happening when it's turned OFF, though.

 

Thanks saveMT. Wow. Yes, the "steering wheel lock pin" could be it! I am going to the dealer again today to discuss with them and we will check into that.
