If I have a 2018 Honda Fit EX head unit can I upgrade it to a 2019 Honda Fit EX head unit? I bricked mine and I’m trying to get another one, but retain all my features. I found one for a steal and hope I can make it work.

The part numbers are so similar.

39100-T5R -L31 -M1 (2018)
39100-T5A -L31 -M1 (2019)

 

I'm not sure why there is a slight difference in part numbers because they should be exactly identical. The 2018 Fit was a mid term upgrade with a new windshield, slightly different front end, the addition of Honda Sensing, etc. There were no changes after 2018 that come to mind so the 2019 from the same EX model should be the same.

 

be careful!...there is no code on the radio anymore like 90's hondas.....radio tied to ecu for theft deterrent..rolleyes.....go aftermarket=no problem....i think.....a steal you say?....lol

 

There is an anti-theft code on the radio. You will need it if you replace the the radio.

Just in case anybody is reading this and has the same question, the answer is yes. I was able to switch mine out and it didn’t need programmed or anything. It works just like the other one and I had no issues at all.
