2Bad starters-Both had bad ring gears on the 2015 Fit models.
Hello,
I have gone through two starters with my 2015 Honda fit. They are weak and seem to not last.
I especially note it when it is colder out and on both the last two starters when it is cold the ring gear on the starter hangs up and grinds.
Both had this problem. I even took one apart. I remember my old CRX starter. It was rock solid and heavy duty. These are low quality and don't hold up!
When it is warm out it does work ok. But that is not acceptable. Is there a brand that fits that can replace this model that is better?
They last 50-60000 miles and fail. I never changed one on the CRX for 300,000 miles. I did change one alternator.

The first was the original oem. The second was a new unit same brand.
Is there a better replacement? Because so far all I have seen is the one brand that fits due to the way it installs.
It does not seem to hold up either. T
