I have the same shade as happyfarmer and mine also has the A-pillar flaps. At least in my experience, they generally curl in on themselves and don't do much, but that's likely a function of not unrolling the shade all that much as my Fit is garaged and not driven every day.
Overall it's a very nice shade although as pointed out above it is a bit bulky.

Yes the heat shield works to keep the interior cooler, and it will also slow down the sun fade of the interior. I am selling a used Heatshield here on this site. If interested feel free to look at my post from earlier today.

@happyfarmer Thanks for posting! I have never seen a window shade for FIT that covers the A pillar windows!! Amazing that they thought of that--no one else has it.
Did you ask for that feature? Is it custom to your specs? Or if I order it will come that way with the A Pillar flaps without any additional instructions?
Because their sample pics just show the windshield covering, not the flaps.

Yes, the A-pillar covers are standard. I just picked the Model and Year, and this is what I received.
In my case, the shield stays well in place.
