Angry Can Honda Fit 2016 touchscreen be replaced with 2020?

I recently made the very bad decision to buy an Android/Carplay upgrade replacement touchscreen for my 2016 Fit on eBay. >> https://www.ebay.com/itm/404803173808. It was installed at my dealership (which they agreed to do as long as they were not responsible for problems, since it's not an official Honda part). It worked well (sort of) for... 2 days. Then Bluetooth stopped connecting to phones, and other malfunctions quickly accumulated. It is a very shoddy piece of tech. DO NOT buy these – made in China, with no manual, customer service or troubleshooting guide provided of any sort. Yeah, stupid of me. Now I'm out $140 with no phone connectivity or anything. I was thinking a solution might be to find a 7" Fit 2020 touchscreen, if possible, and have it installed. Based on a little research it looks like it would fit.

My question to anyone who can help is: has anyone tried this, and if so what is the best way to find a 2020 touchscreen? OR, what would your recommendations be in this situation? I'm really irritated and stymied with this, and don't want to make another stupid costly mistake.
Thanks to ANYONE who can provide some help and guidance.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

In 2018 Honda made a series of minor design changes to the Fit. One of the things they added to certain models was the Honda Sensing Suite which includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). To accommodate ACC they modified the screen to add a small display icon so you can see the setting to see the distance you want to maintain behind the car in front of you. Some wiring changes to support this would have been required. I don't know what other changes there might have been since I am not familiar other older cars or lower end 2018 models which don't have Sensing. My touchscreen (2018 Canadian LX) incidentally is totally different from the screens I normally see of older cars (2015/16) posted here.

re: Carply replacement for 2016 touchscreen

Thanks for this response. Very helpful. Actually, the 2016 Fit screen does not have Carplay or Android. It's just a very basic screen for car settings. That's why I was attempting to replace it with the one I bought on eBay, which easily slots into the 2016 Fit, but is a piece of %$#@. I was thinking that IF I could find an original Fit touchscreen from a later model, that ALSO has Carply, it would be worth whatever cost, instead of the bad non-Honda thing I had installed.

From what I can tell, the 2020 unit doesn't have a diagnostics screen/app installed (based on experience with EX w/sensing). None of the button press combos I've tried bring it up - just existing (touch-accessible) pages or a long forced-reboot/OS-crash-recovery process. The functionality vs install challenges sweet-spot is probably a '18 or '19 model without sensing.
