So today I was going 70mph with a strong head wind. I start hearing a flapping sound. I think it's just the wind so I keep going I change direction and it is still there. So I decided to pull over and look for anything obvious. But I don't see anything. So I get back on the road. No noise until I get up to speed. So I pull over again and notice cvt fluid dripping from the back of the transmission. Wth. Any idea on how messed up this is. Thanks. 2020 Fit LX 153k miles.

 

as far as the flapping , check the plastic covers under the car for missing fasteners . i had a weird tapping sound under the front of my fit . turned out to be a missing fastener on the side cover
in the right side wheel well . popped in a new one and that was that . i keep a bag of them on hand now just in case . as far as the oil leak , are you sure it's from the CVT ? is the transmission
working properly ? at any rate , first thing first check the level , if there is a leak make sure it's topped off . you don't want to make a bad situation worse . if you can , get under the car and clean up the back of the transaxle . drive it around and keep checking until you see where the leak is coming from

 

If only Honda had put in a transmission dip stick ......
