Strange Problem...
2017 GK MT
I have had no problems with this car, except that I go through batteries every four years.
I swapped out the dead battery on Sunday. The car started fine, and I took it for a ride. I then went out again to do chores yesterday.
Today I swapped out the engine air filter and the cabin air filter.
When I started the car, it went straight to revving at 5,000 rpm and stuttering between 4.500 and 5,000 rpm. And that's where things stayed.
I reversed all the steps I had done over the past few days: disconnecting reconnecting the battery and inserting/reinserting new and old filters.
The problem persisted.
The usual lights came on during ignition and then shut off after a few seconds, as though the car was running fine. I could not pull any OBD codes either.
Any ideas? TIA.

It happens.
I once started my Fit while wearing my big/clunky steel-toed work boots. The foot I thought was on the brake was also pushing the gas pedal down. My coworkers standing around the car got quite a surprise when she went from 0 rpm to redline in an instant. It was pretty embarrassing, and they were definitely calling me Dom Torretto for a few weeks.
