Exclamation 2018 Front Passenger Seat Removal

Edit: The front seat folds backwards and almost entirely out of the way, as pointed out by Drew21, so there's no need to remove it after all haha.

Hello!

First time posting, so it's good to be here.

I'd like to remove the front passenger seat so that I can fit a bookcase in my Fit, but, from what I've seen online, I'll have to initialize the ODS after I reinstall the seat. Does anyone know if I'll still have to initialize it if I'm just taking out and putting back the same seat?

Cheers!

In the third-generation Fit, does the front seat still fold backwards over the folded rear seat like it does in my 2010?

I have used that procedure for moving some 2x10s and 2x12s.

I'm struggling to imagine a scenario where I would need to remove the front seat to fit an item that otherwise wouldn't fit in the Fit. In other words, while removing the front seat would gain you a bit more height there (but not a lot), it doesn't gain you any further back in the vehicle.

What are the dimensions of your bookcase?

You know I had no idea it could do that. Probably my fault that I didn't think to check.

Turns out it can, so there's no need to take out the seat. Thank you!

I have removed the same seat as well. The airbag icon on the dash will illuminate as longs as the connectors are unplugged...You don't to do anything except to plug back the two connectors.
