Good! It looks like they won't do it in 2026. I still like the idea of cutting an access hole under the switch. I have seven or eight pages of directions if I do it the Honda way.

I tried to put the steps for removal in order.

1. Remove the heater control panel.
2. First remove the radio.
3. First remove dash center vent.
4. First remove the visor over the vent.
5. Remove the center vent.
6. Remove dashboard lower cover.
7. Remove the radio. Sevral removals are required before the radio can be taken out.
8. Reach in and remove the Starter Button.

Basically, the radio must be removed before the Starter Button can be removed.

My Honda Dealer fixed mine without hacking up the dashboard.

Ever since the fix I've never had an issue with starting or turning off my Fit.

One push my Fit starts.

One push my Fit turns off.

Never had to push the start button twice to start or turn off my Fit.

If I had very long, very thin arms, I might be able to reach up and remove that button.

If by "hacking," you mean removing those components, I wish Honda knew about that. I'll take my time and start the process - maybe tomorrow. Whoever invented tomorrow should have been made King of the World. Best day of the week. 😂
