Well rotors, yeah just hit the brakes and it'll be gone. The hinges should not have any type of rust. Is it properly painted in the hing/jamb areas? I know many manufacturers are cutting costs by leaving the underside of the hood and other parts unpainted.

Can't answer that now as I am out camping and my fit is at home.

I didn't see any rust on mine but will have a good look around for any when I get home.

I kind of like the dealers CRV I've been driving for several weeks so I'll wait for a Fit in perfect condition.

We'll all be behind you with crossed fingers. All that Fit has left to do is pass the "evil eye" test. When that's done, finish your deal, drive home and, finally, take lots of pics and post. GOOD LUCK and advanced Congrats!!!

Isn't it just plain common sense that you inspect the car before signing the papers?

Yes, but...let me give you a good example. Back in 2002 we purchased a new Chrysler Town & Country Limited...sticker $37K. Car looked perfect, and dealer washed it prior to drive off. The next day I went to wax the van and found micro particles in the paint that would not wax out. It was "rail dust"...and the dealer paid to have the van detailed using clay bar to remove the contaminates. Today's its perfect...at least for a 12 year old van. But the bottom line is...sometimes you don't see all the paint issues on day 1.
