Question for those with Clazzio seat covers (EX vs EX-L)
Question for those with Clazzio seat covers (EX vs EX-L)
I've been debating for a week now whether or not to get the EX or EX-L.
I've never had a leather interior before, and I'm a bit worried about them getting too hot here in Texas.
Also, the difference in price is $1666 total.
To be clear, I don't care about anything else on the EX-L.
Sure, sideview turn signals would be nice, but it's not a dealbreaker for me.
I'm considering getting an EX and then getting some Clazzio covers once they're available.
I guess my question is - how different is riding around on Clazzio covers as opposed to actual OEM factory leather upholstery?
For context, I'm probably going to keep this car for at least 10 years. So on the one hand, the money might be worth it to just pay for the EX-L.
On the other hand, if seat covers wear down you can always replace them or remove them.
I know these things are hard to quantify - just looking for any insight from people who might have experience with Clazzios vs factory leather.
Thanks.

I am also considering the Clazzio Leather seat covers. Primarily because I want a manual transmission Fit and factory leather is not available with the manual transmission. But there is one thing that I also am disappointed about losing the leather steering wheel cover and would like the leather on the inside door trim.
I just can't decide if it's worth $1,666 extra, and was thinking that getting the Clazzios would get me most of the way there for a fraction of the cost.
That is assuming they don't feel like seat covers, if you know what I mean.
From the pics that FF's have installed on their own cars, they look very OEM. To get an idea, go to the Clazzio webpage and they have videos.
As for me, in our climate, with my lifestyle, its cloth seats and a healthy dose of ScotchGuard!!!!

My seats don't feel too hot, even when I first sit down. Car is outside. Tint not installed yet. The only drawback is the sweat between my thighs and the seat, which has only been a problem the first time I get in the car for the day (usually mid-day).
Now...if we had seat coolers like I've seen....with the vented seats....oooh, that would be a winner!

Hey Fit2tri - another quick question for you.
Is the door trim leather? Or is it just a solid gray material?
I can't tell from the photos, and I was a bit too distracted with other stuff when I actually test drove the car.
(when I actually buy this car I'm going to have to send you a commission)

I have clazzios and they are as close as can be to factory leather. They are a little tough to install but once you get them on the fit is so nice and tight that it pretty much looks OEM. Most people get the PU (poly urethane?) fake leather seats because even if you get real leather, it is only the center part that is actually leather, the rest is still PU so many don't feel like its worth it to pay much more for the real leather inserts.
Does make cleaning the seats real easy. Just a little all purpose cleaner and voila! If it is very hot you can feel your clothes and sweaty body sticking to the seats but that's no big deal and since they are so easy to clean, a quick wipe is all that is needed if you had to ride in your car when you were sweaty. I'd rather sweat on some fake leather than on some upholstery that lend up getting sweat stains or smelling bad!
