I think I'm going to have a Fit
And I did, I just picked up a EX-L $20,391.00 plus sales tax at 8% license fees etc it was $22,368.93 out the door. I live in the San Diego foothills where nothing is flat and on the 45 mile ride home I got 42.5 mpg. The ride was very smooth and we thought it was quieter than our 2007 Honda CRV. I was thinking about the built in navigation but after reading the down loadable operating manual I went with the $253.00 Garmin nüvi 2797LMT 7-Inch Portable Bluetooth Vehicle GPS with Lifetime Maps and Traffic. The screen is the same size as the Honda and has more features plus free map updates four times a year. With the Honda that would be over $400.00 a year. I use the bean bag mount and it fits nicely to the left of the windshield. The salesman showed me something that I had not heard of before. He linked my iPhone to the electronics package and in case of an accident the phone automatically calls a Honda emergency number giving my location.
Stellar MPG once again from a new Fit owner. I mean, how many more are going to continue to beat EPA numbers????
Smooth ride??? Ah yes, more music to my ears!!!

Emergency link, too bad my LX won't have that. I'll have to call you Iphone owners to call 911 for me instead!!!

BTW, don't forget to post pics. Sign your name to the "Who bought a Fit" thread.
What are you referring to? Honda doesn't have a yearly fee on their built in navi, do they?

Oh, she meant the garmin updates would amount to $400 yearly. She said with the Honda though. I guess that's what threw me off, I was like wait, what? lol.
Actually it sounded like he was referring to the Honda Nav. Maybe a cost of $400 for 4 map updates in a year? His Garmin has free lifetime updates.
Is this what Honda is charging for the Nav system updates?

Map Updates
Honda does not have map updates for the 2015 Fit because it is so new but for all of their current vehicles including the 2013 Fit map updates can be found at their web site The Official Honda Map Update Site. They are currently on sale for $99.00 and after mid July the price will go up to $149.00 The Garmin has FREE updates for life and you can get them four times a year.

I think I saw on their website a nav update disc is $130, not sure if the first year is free or not. Usually in-dash nav systems are less than desirable and once they quit supporting them pretty useless. Couldnt find the $130 link but here is a link to an update for the 2013 http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INT...QAAAE9tKJzbauI

Give use a review if possible. 7 inch Garmin is nice OP, but for me, I'm opting for the Garmin 3597LMTHD for $330.00 and not having the in-dash nav system for the honda. 5 inch, but better than having to spend $1,000 for the honda nav that uses the same screen as the EX hondalink that gives you just a gps chip and software. A rip off in my opinion. Like the 7 inch screen you purchased, but the 3597 has all the bells, and whistles and rated highly from the reviews.
GPS with Bluetooth question:
Are you able to pair multiple devices at once or must you choose between B/T streaming music and GPS?
Is there an AUX jack available to connect to a phone for music?
If so, would AUX music be interrupted my GPS to provide driving directions?

There is no AUX jack but you if you have a compatible phone it will play over bluetooth quite nicely, when I get out of the car the song stops there and it picks back up when I get back in. If it is a compatible phone you do not need to tether it for music. It does have the USB port that you can load music on a thumb drive and plug it in and it plays like an ipod.
I have the EX-L model so cant speak for the LX but believe the EX is the same as mine in that if you use the honda app for navigation it will put the music in the background for directions. Same thing if you just use Siri for directions, you do not get visual but it will give you verbal directions as you drive along also putting the music in lowered volume while directions are given. Its a nice system, but let me make clear you do not have to buy the Nav app for phone for directions, if it is apple system you can obtain directions through Siri.
PS: it may be possible to use a different phone to plug into the USB port for music if you have the adapter from your phone to USB. Just a thought.
