Honda dealer car status codes?
I put a non-refundable deposit down on a new 2015 Fit EX-L w/Navi (blue) on Friday. It had an assigned VIN and a status code of "ASN". There were some other cars on the list with status code "SHP" which sounds a lot better, but I really wanted the blue one. I sure hope ASN stands for Advance Ship Notification or similar.
Does anyone have any experience on how long Hondas with these different status codes take to arrive?

A non-refundable deposit isn't even legal. It's foolish to commit to terms like that. By law, if the car comes in and it does not meet your standards, or it comes in damaged, will you just bend over and take it?
Stealers will be stealers, and they love an uninformed consumer. I feel bad saying this to you, but I would feel worse not being honest. The most a dealer would get out of me under your circumstances is a good-faith REFUNDABLE deposit pending inspection of the car and acceptance of the deal. Once you inspect the car and sign on the dotted line, THEN there is no going back.
In either case, good luck.

Google is your friend:

Of course, this refers to a Japan-built Fit, but Mexican Fits should follow the pattern.

No, I honestly don't know what the acronym stands for. Present the question directly to your sales manager (not the salesman). He or she should be able to answer your question without hesitation. Also, ask if your build has a VIN assigned to it or not. If not, ask to be made aware when a VIN is assigned and what that VIN is.

Having a VIN is good, let the waiting begin...
