Anyone With Tint Having Problems With Smart Entry?

Im scheduled to get my EX tinted next week and Ive been doing some searching on which film to get. Im gonna go with Formula One but deciding between the comfort series which is a type of metallic tint or the Pinnacle which is ceramic. Ive read on some BMW forums that certain metallic tints will interfere with keyless access. Has anyone had any problems with their Smart Key access after they had their EX tinted? Any problems with you Bluetooth?

Thanks.

My Fit was installed by the dealer and thus far absolutely no issues with that and the Smart Entry system. None

I was talking to my tint shop yesterday and they said they no longer do metallic film because of too many complaints from customers who have issues with entry systems, GPS, and cell reception.

Solve any transmitting issues by installing Pinnacle ceramic (since its one of your choices) and avoid anything metallic.

Whatever tint the dealer installed does not interfere whatsoever.

A few years back I installed the WiFi system in the terminal building of our airport. I could not get the WiFi to work through the tinted windows. As a test, I temporarily set one access point (transmitter) in a window. Standing outside 12 feet way on the ramp I could see it in the window but not communicate with it. All of the windows looking out on the ramp and runways were metallic tinted. Every time some one would walk through an automatic sliding door 100 feet away on the other side of the security fence the WiFi would work until the door closed again.

I'm sure that you will have the same situation in a car with metallic tinted windows.

Maybe that is a good this as it will keep occupants from using cell phones while driving.
