lx or ex
We got the EX. It was all about the moonroof. We don't even open it to the elements (it needs to cool down here in FL), but all that glass with the already terrific airiness; just great.
Also love(d) the dressy alloys, and immediately fell in love with the smart entry fob. I also have no issue with the lack of knobs for the controls...seems easy to me.

Comparison from the Honda website on:
A)Passenger Volume (cu. ft., mfr.)
95.7 (LX)
93.8 (EX)
B) Headroom (Front, in.)
39.5 (LX)
38.0 (EX)
Considering the outer dimensions (roof height), are the same on both versions, the installation of the sunroof/moonroof must take up some space, and by the specifications found on the Honda website, it appears that space is about 1.5".

All of those are fair reasons for favoring an LX except for the headroom relating to the moonroof. I'm 6'8" and do have an EX and the moonroof doesn't at all seem to have impacted headroom. My knees may be banging around, but I have lots of space over my head, and this moonroof doesn't appear to have any components (including the cover) which are lower than the ceiling otherwise would have been.
As far as I'm concerned, it's a no-brainer. Get the EX. A comparison of features should persuade you.
I think the solar heating will be nice in the winter - the sunlight coming through the roof. It will probably be more psychological than real, but I'm looking forward to it.
I have the EX CVT and enjoy some of the additional features - lane watch, keyless unlock, pandora. But the touch screen is a distraction, and if I had to do it again I'd get the LX, which has a standard (non-touch) radio.
Choosing EX
My reasons for picking the EX trim: the 5" screen is too small for my aging eyes to see easily for the backup camera. I want that Lanewatch camera. Will be awesome for spotting cyclists downtown. I've never had a moonroof... But seems like a good way to ventilate some of the Texas heat. As for the EX-L, nobody in central Texas really needs black leather seats, heated seats, or heated mirrors. Now, if it offered air conditioned seats, that might sway me! I'll be getting my navigation through Siri Eyes Free on my iPhone 5s anyways. I just check before starting to make sure she actually knows where we're going.. I will be getting most of my music and podcasts that way anyways (unlimited data plan). So, EX all the way.
There's a lot to be said for that type of radio. It took me a while to be able to use the one in the EX, and I'm still not 100%. I wonder how well these will hold up.
I think complaints develop when someone wants to do a particular thing, and can't get it done. I had trouble getting a display of my presets. I got it done with help from people here, but it's still hit and miss.
That, and the fact that the Display Audio system has proven buggy for a number of FF members makes the choice easy.
I have an LX and I find little to rave about the radio. OK... it has a volume knob. How about a TUNING knob? How in the world is this radio an improvement over the ordinary radios that were in cars before the digital age ruined everything? (I miss my 10-key adding machine. )

I shouldn't complain. The clock works. After owning a long string of Subarus --- NONE of which knew the time of day-- I am happy to finally not have to paste some one-dollar LCD clock on the dash (and watch it malfunction whenever the outdoor temperature drops below 40 degrees.

Easy decision for me: I have dogs with long fur. Need the leather, so it will be EX-L when I can get my hands on one. I thought about doing the LX and installing leather after-market but you end up spending roughly $2,500 for a good leather upholstery.
