2015 Fit is a 50mpg car!

I got well over 50mpg on my first commute with my new Fit. I normally got between 50-70 mpg with my 2010 Prius, so I am quite pleased.

Hypermiling is a little different without a hybrid. The Prius will hit a high number quickly and gradually drop mpgs and usually settle at a good number around 50 and you have to work it to get higher than 50mpg. The Fit starts out in the 30s and has to be worked hard to get through the 40s but once it hits 50mpg it stays there...very cool!

On my first two tanks when i babied the motor, i got 44 and 46 mpg (calculated). After i passed the break-in period, i've been flooring it ever since. I've consistently gotten 39 mpg every fill up since. 80% of my tank consists of stop and go local driving.

It was from the trip computer over a 100 mile commute. I don't expect the tank to be as high because the first drive home wasn't as good....I wasn't paying attention.

I've seen 52 on the trip computer over 6 miles on grocery store runs, babying it on fairly level road with several down hills and 2 traffic lights. The uphill on the return trip kills the 50s, but I'll take 48mpg over a 12 mile errand any day. Definitely gives the Prius a run, and look ma, no hybrid battery to worry about replacing down the road, The earth dreams 4 in this car is amazingly efficient, although buzzy loud at times... but hey, turn up the volume on the tunes and get on it!

Can't get that where I live, too many hills. In my Prius C though we average 60 mpg all the time so that makes up for the Fit

My highest ever was 44mpg driving from Philadelphia to Richmond, VA. On the way back I had a Honda ruckus in the back so she got about 31mph on the way back LOL!

Interesting, TopJimmy51. I have been impressed with good mileage (in the 30's) given a mix of out-of-town and in-town driving in my 2015 EX, but 50 mpg sounds like a lifestyle challenge. I always punch the Econ button on open road, but tend to turn it off in-town just to stay on at least an even par with all the turkeys who amply surround this turkey. I am simply compelled to 'move on' when it comes to cell phoners, tail-draggers, or drag racers driving a piece of junk. Up to a challenge however, I will attend to any and all suggestions such as those contained in yours and other's Econ-oriented posts.

So far in my new car withless than 75miles... I've notced an average of 45-49mpg based on the Honda Computer on the EX-L w/Navi.... I would never thought it would get this high mpg. I have Econ with AC on level 2 on... Simply love my car more and more!

Puts my 2013 Accord Sport to shame! In fact my Lexus LS460 does an average of 35mpg to which I thought.. Why did I even bother getting the Accord. Lol
