Blinking LEDs

Hello to all. I just got my new Fit today. A purple EX with a 6 speed manual. I do have a question though. When I shut car off I have a red LED symbol blinking on the left dash display I believe is the theft alarm. But I also have a square LED in the middle of the dash between the off/on for the touchscreen stereo and the CD slot. The LED is not marked and If you look in the owners manual The pictures do not show one. Just wondered what that one could be.

Thanks in advance.

James

PS. Yes I love the Fit so far. I am so glad I found a manual transmission version and bought it.

The light on the radio is the anti-theft specifically for the radio. Don't worry, its normal. All Honda's do it.

And yes, the light in the tachometer is the security system light.

Thanks

Thanks for the information. Moving to this little guy from a 1995 Ford Escort wagon I have driven for 20 years with 350,00 miles on it is a shock. The 5 speed manual Escort had 2 miles on it when I bought it back in 1995. I ended up keeping it for a long time. The technology has changed so much. Their is also tons more tech in the FIt . The engine is so nice. It just wants to keep pulling. I have a lot to go through on the manual.

Thanks Again.

James

P.S. Got to get used to that super light clutch though !

Congratulations on your new car!! You are going to LOVE IT!!!
I have an LX 6 speed and I agree about the light clutch. That took me a while to get used to but I am really getting the hang of it and look forward to driving every day (I've been driving a 5 speed truck for the past 5 years: real stiff clutch)

You mentioned reading the manual. DEFINITELY take/make the time to read the manual thoroughly. If you have any questions/uncertainty about instructions for some of the tech gadgets search these forums or post a question ... there are some pretty savy folks here, they've helped me a lot!

I read the entire manual when I first bought my Fit back in July and am due to read through again. Well written and lots of good info.

You can also download a PDF version of the manual to have on your home computer or desktop at work The link is below .... good luck!!

Wow, you got some real use out of the Escort. Have you ever replaced the clutch? Any major repairs? What kind of driving did you usually do with it?
Welcome to the Fit community.

my old 1995 Ford Escort wagon

I had the head drop a valve seat at 145,000. I put in a new engine and had a new clutch put in at that time. All was OK until the ticking sound started with a leaky intake valve where the seat went bad. I kept driving it for about another 6000 miles until it started to run on just 3 cylinders and was undrivable anymore. Mostly highway driving with some city since I live in the country. I had put a header and performance exhaust on it about 10 years ago which helped on performance. With only 88 HP not real quick. The good news is the new fit has a manual like the old Escort. The avg MPG since last fillup on the Fit is 47.3 . Was looking for an LX manual but they are hard to come by around here. This was the only EX manual in Memphis. The Fit weighs about the same as my old Escort but has more room inside. It's a Honda thing. The Fit also feels like a slightly heavier car which I am getting used to. Handling is fantastic. Only have about 400 miles on it so far so I continue to baby it for now. I am pretty easy on cars as far as driving goes. Hope to get a long life from this "Purple People Eater" like I did on the Escort.
