What does the red flashing on the dashboard mean? It is only flashes when the car is turned off. I could not find its purpose in the manual. Does anyone know?

I think that's the radio anti theft light

 

i believe the above is correct. just supposed to be another theft deterrent flashy light, but specifically for the head unit.

 

On my 2012, there are two flashing red lights. One, on the dashboard near the gauges, indicates the built-in alarm system is active. A second one on the radio indicates that it has an anti-theft code feature—so that anybody who was interested in stealing a plain single CD car radio knows they also have to steal the card with the magic five digit number on it, or look it up at a Honda dealer.

The car alarm one actually has a couple of flashing patterns, depending on if it is arming or is armed. It's activated by locking the doors with the key fob or with the outside key switch, IIRC; the manual has all the details.

 

That's MY belief, too.

Our '99 Acura had the one on the radio AND another LED right by the driver's door lock where a would-be thief could see it.

 

My GTI had the same thing, an LED on the Monsoon head unit and a red LED where the door button is ... I really liked having that door blinker, something about it was cool..
