Finally, have a Fit on order
Finally, have a Fit on order
After watching and waiting since April, I finally reached an agreement with my go to Honda Dealer.
Stopped by Ron Norris Honda in Titusville, Florida on the way home from work Friday afternoon. Talked with the general manager, who I bought my 2008 Fit from. He had two Blue LX-CVT's alocated, and my name is on one of them. The bad news is, it's projected build date is the 18th of this month, and it will not likely be in until early or mid December. O'well, it will be my Christmas present this year.
During our talk, he told me things that we already know, but it was good to hear it directly from someone in the know.
He said the 2015 Fit roll out was a major disappointment. Honda had many issues with the start-up of the new Fit plant in Mexico, and Honda is not doing very well with communications with their dealerships about it either.
The dealership is getting small numbers of the Fits only in dribs and drabs, even though they are on special increased allocation, due to building a new Honda Dealership Building this year. Some times they get the Fit with in a week after it is built, some times it takes four weeks to get them delivered. Almost all the Fits they get are silver, black, and some red. White and blue Fits are scarce. They have received exactly one yellow, and that was a special order.

I picked it up today.
Got the Blue LX CVT (sequence number 41253) that I wanted.
Price was $16,715.00
Plus:
Dealer Fee $499
Registration Filing Fee $50
Florida Battery Fee $1.50
Florida Tire Fee $4.00
Florida Sales Tax $1,036.17
Lemon Law Fee $2.00
Florida Tag Transfer Fee and Tag Renewal $85.85
Total out the door price was $18,393.52
I spent at least 45 minutes looking car over inside and out before I signed anything. The car looks really good, with zero observed defects. Real smooth deal, with zero haggling, as the $16,715 price was agreed to before hand.
I'm a happy camper.

Already a week that I have my 2015 Honda fit.
This Honda is special!
Simply fun to drive!
One week with the new Fit, and I love it more than I loved my 2008 Fit (now my son's car).
300 plus miles on it so far, and still have 1/4 of a tank of gas, mileage average so far is 39.6 mpg as per the car's calculation, and that is with the Econ off.
No issues at all so far.

The Econ mode isn't bad in this car. I had to turn it off on my previous 2012 Civic Hybrid because I practically had no power even with flooring it. So I leave it off and lost about 10% of fuel savings which isn't too bad as I was getting 45 MPG average.
Honda tweaked the Econ so it doesn't feel sluggish. if I really need the power such as merging into a crazy short lane on the highway I'd turn it off.
Despite the small engine it's really quick little car.
